I do try and keep on top of things to do with local bus services and this is the first I am hearing of this. As far as I am aware there has been no campaign, no angry responses from councillors or MPs and no press coverage until after the fact.People seem to be getting so wrapped up in the sound and fury of LTNs and cycle lanes that they are ignoring the erosion of the most critical form of public transport in London - the bus. The demographic that use them seem less inclined to lobby for their main mode of transport than drivers and cyclists who are more middle class but policy shouldn't be determined by always doing what those who shout loudest are asking for.The 207 is already very congested particularly in the morning and this is going to lead to people giving up on the service with some of them using their cars instead. The justification seems to be that travel between Hanwell, Ealing and Acton can now be done by the Elizabeth line but that ignores the fact that Acton Mainline station is nowhere near the High Street.
