There is no reason for anyone working or on benefits to use food banks ! Benefits are worked out to allow enough money to eat healthily . I know people with brand new cars , PlayStations , 60 inch tvs , £500 snakes , £1000 of tattoos . Growing up in the 60s in a poor family we never went hungary . We would play ou t all day and pop in for 5 mins and make a jam sandwich . The Marcus Rashford brigade do not know about poverty ! People sell their Rashford vouchers for half price to buy drink drugs , in the same way they sold the free laptops given to their children in lockdown. How you prioritise how to spend your money is why food banks exist !

It's sad that so many people march to this misguided tune. People on benefits are scroungers. Asylum seekers are albanian gangsters. It works every time

I would suggest that you volunteer at your local food bank, Dennis, meet some of these people whom you despise, but I don't think it would be fair on them.

This is real thin end of the wedge rubbish from the local gobshite.Oscar Wilde said something to the effect that asking the poor to be more thrifty is like asking a staving man to eat less.Food banks exist in many countries so you will be pleased to know, Dennis, that there are people all over the world who are malingerers, not just here.

Foodbanks are an abomination in the 21st Century in the worlds 5th richest country. The head of the Trussell Group who run most of the food banks on volunteer labour earns £80,000 a year.
