Why Fake Grass is far from green
Should we petition Deidre Costigan our Cabinet member with responsibility for all things green and climate change strategy?Whilst Ealing Council cannot prevent home-owner’s laying plastic grass, as part of their Local Plan? they do have the power to stop the laying of plastic grass and MUGAs at all new developments, this should include conversions of properties to smaller units. The new development at Dickens Yard not only has plastic grass but also plastic leaf screening, where in a short period the leaves dry out and blow onto flower beds and lawns. The Friary Park development are planning a MUGA, they are requesting the removal of a tree on Friars Place Green to allow the MUGA to spread on to the Green.https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2022/jul/17/why-fake-grass-is-far-from-green-in-ways-you-might-not-guess?
