Local history presentation about Frances Pierrepoint 1712
I have already posted this on another forum ( with pictures) so apologies if you have already seen this. 1712- Frances Pierrepoint -an Acton girl. Frances Pierrepoint spent time in Acton in the early 1700's because her father had a house off the high street. Frances was married in Acton but unfortunately for her it did not turn out well with her husband and she became a victim of the 1715 Jacobite rebellion. She spent most of her later life trying re- claim her confiscated possessions and look after her daughter whilst battling depression. Want to know more about this Acton girl of courage despite misfortune? Please come to Acton History Group on Wednesday 8th June at 19:30 at St. Mary's hall ( near Morrisons) £2 entry. The presentation includes about 50 pictures of things to do with the Pierrepoint family ( as in Pierrepoint Road) and Acton as it was. www.actonhistorygroup.co.uk
