Parking Ticket Drop off point at LHR

I have used this drop off point for years.  In December, I dropped someone off twice over the course of 3 days.  I sat in the car and was there for no more than three mins. Two weeks later, I received two parking tickets from APCOA.  I appealed, but they won't bend.  I couldn't see any clear notices and none of my family, friend or colleagues are aware of this either. I've heard that private companies cannot force payment.  However, my 14 day discount period runs out next week.  Are there any experts on the forum? I would be truly grateful for any advice please.

Poor signage used to be a good reason to challenge Council issues tickets. Richard Jennings is indeed a font of all knowledge in the subject

Hi Norman,I read that too.  But, the fact is, that APCOA seem to have been a bit shy about announcing this.  There are no clear signs and many have received these penalties.  Anyway, I guess I'll just have to pay up...😫😫

According to moneysavingexpert.com there has been a charge to drop off at Heathrow since 1st November 2021. “Drivers entering the drop-off zones must now pay the £5 charge on the day or by 11.59pm the following day, otherwise they will be liable for an £80 fine.” That info came up when I Googled Heathrow drop-off.
