WOMEN OF ACTON
We have been organising fortnightly walks but now that winter has arrived we shall walk once a month - we shall walk on 2nd December; 6thJanuary; 3rd February meeting at 7.30 at Acton Park close Acton Central Station. Do come and join us and keep letting us know the areas that pose problems for Women and Girls, our email is at the foot of the flyer. Offences against women overall in London have risen in the last twelve months from 77,728 to 94,784. In the Borough of Ealing alone in September 2021 there were 7,400 recorded offences, by September 2022 statistics show they numbered 8,356. We need our Council to support us with a clear policy document drawn up with the help of women's organisations; with well documented and recorded prosecutions that have been promised but do not appear to have been implemented; with a widespread poster campaign that will raise awareness. We all need to be conscious of the very real fears that women face in our area. The days have grown shorter and so many streets and walkways are poorly lit - help us highlight the dangers and discomforts that women and girls experience. 0e24e97c-7313-45f9-ac2e-d7da617d74cer.JPG
