ACTone cinema opens on Friday 1.00 pm

After a mere eight years or so, the Old Library on the High Street opens the doors with the new Bond. Our own Anne Marie Flanagan will be there to tell you how it is, but why not go along yourself ? Buy some popcorn from  the new Bears cafe, try out the comfy seats, maybe have an icecream while you watch the blockbuster with your friends and neighbours.  Congratulate the people of Acton who persevered through Covid to bring the long awaited cinema to you. The ActOne centre and cinema is a great asset for everyone in Acton, surrounding areas and further afield. The whole Team have achieved a future for the previously derelict Library- for the benefit of the community. The cinema is great and i'll happily pick up leaflets and distribute to houses in my area.

Thanks Rosco. The cafe has been struck by Covid twice so reduced staffing. Always open by 3.00 pm. Do you fancy watching Spencer?

What times, broadly, do the premises "open shop" for the day, each day?I was passing by this morning at 09:40 and would have collected flyers for my area.  Not an issue, I imagine most "staff" are volunteers so not expecting to be open from 09:00 to 23:30 or somesuch.  😊

If you would be willing to deliver a few fliers on your street we would be grateful. We are trying to reach people who are not in local social media or don't use the High Street. Tenants, young people, new arrivals. Just collect the fliers from Reception + leave a note of the street you will cove on the pad von the desk. Thank you in advance.

Good luck with the new Act One Cinema!Hope it's better tan VUE Cinema in Westfield. They charged £19.99 on Wednesday 25 October to see 'The Great 80 Tour' and the first 25 minutes was missed due to technical issues.Then they didn't bother to switch the lights on after the show leaving people to find their way out in the dark!

It's going to be a real challenge in the current environment and will need people to be prepared to pay a bit more to go. With the Vue in Westfield currently offering tickets at £9.99 and half price with Meerkat Movies on Tuesday and Wednesday this can be quite a premium. I'm definitely going to be going regularly on the use it or lose it principle but if I'm meeting people from other areas it is hard to persuade them to come to Acton and pay more.

I have looked at this.  The tickets are very reasonably priced and vary according to the day of the showing. There are also discounts for students and seniors.  The full price tickets are £13.50 at peak times and £8.00 off peak.

Apparently, The French Dispatch is scheduled, as well as Dune.  Like you, I had already seen No Time to Die, but look forward to many, many more films to come!

Part of fundraising is the requirements to show our project has widespread support. We have about 5000 supporters on our list and a target of 20000.  No problep pressure but if you could find us supporters through your own contacts this will be helpful. Igf you aren't signed up yourself maybe do that? Thank you.

No charge.Our programming is being done for us by the Rio cinema in Dalston but I understand that French Dispatch and Dune are being scheduled.Thank you all for promoting the Act One cinema to your friends and neighbours. First visit this evening. Great ice-cream and comfortable seats with loads of leg-room. And a jolly audience.For me the only problem was the film: three hours of my life I will never get back.I hope it goes for repertory soon: different flicks at different times. Id be there often, if so.

Unfortunately I saw No Time to Die before ACTone Cinema opened so would really like to see something else at the new cinema. Hopefully once the Bond frenzy dies down we might get some of the noteworthy new films - The French Dispatch would be nice!
