More roadworks on Churchfield Road...

We walked past Churchfield Road yesterday, and high up on a lamppost outside The Chimney cake shop, is a large sign notifying of yet more road works to Churchfield Road: did they not recently extend the pavement out into the road?  What is now the point of yet more works, etc?(Sorry, no idea how to attach the photo...)

I can't find anything online about new "public realm improvements" for Churchfield Road.  I wonder if these roadworks are something to do with the new flats above where the Post Office used to be. New drains or utilities maybe? If so, all the congestion but no light at the end of this particular tunnel...

Aslong as they use the same pavement, the new one they did has 3 different types of finish on the floor. Really ugly and bizarre whoever was responsible for doing that

Of course it would be common sense to switch off the Acacia camera for this period. And not signpost it as a diversion, hence saving it for local residents. Kind of like it was in the first place.

It would help with all these flaming roadworks, that temporary lights are regulated properly.Quite often the battery fails & they switch off.In this case with Cadent gasworks, the work is complete, carriageway reinstated yet the lights remain in place, causing unnecessary congestion & pollution .Lights should be removed ASAP

Thanks Michael - so long as not more LTNs! Noticed down on the High Street where there are roadworks by the traffic lights going toward the railway bridge, that on the opposite side of the road, they have installed benches almost on the road!  Honestly can't imagine who would want to sit with cars skimming past the back of their heads, and traffic sat at a standstill, inhaling all the car exhaust fumes...

I think it’s six weeks of works from Heart and Soul up towards Morrison’s.The part of the street that could do with some love. It’s going to be disruptive, but then again, what isn’t?
