Freight trains South Acton station

Hello,I am considering moving into a flat by South Acton station.I noticed that occasionally freight trains passing through this station.Does anyone know if freight trains are running through the night from this station? Generally, I am looking information on how disturbing the train noise can be if you live by South Acton station.

Am no expert on this but from observation I'd say it's more of a rumble than a loud noise, though it may last a minute or so if it's pulling 50 containers. The main noise comes from the 3,300 bhp diesel engine. The upside is you do get occasional steam charter trains using this route!

Our bedroom overlooks the station & there are freight trains which pass in the small hours. Obviously in the summer with windows open it’s more noticeable , that & engineering works, noise from workers talking.It’s not incessant, say 2 or 3 Max & not every night

Hi John, they are quite infrequent but you do hear them. They pass quite slowly so the noise is quite low rather than any high pitched whine. I've never heard them at night  but i'm not right on top of the line, I live across the road from houses that gardens back onto the line. I've worked from home since March and I cant recall there being more than a couple a week.
