residents' parking permits

Last year there was a lot of correspondence about people not being notified in time to renew their parking permits. I was reminded, and renewed in time. This year I did not receive a reminder and this morning found a parking ticket on my car as the permit expired a few days ago. I have temporarily given up on trying to renew my permit on line as the council website is currently like wading through mud... will try again later. But before I pay the parking ticket (reluctantly) did anyone achieve a reprieve last year because of non-notification?

APPEAL. Make sure you do within time period & keep proof. They want you to pay without any hesitation.So many people just pay up when clearly it’s wrong.Fight them all the way

If rejected (I've appealed) I'm quite prepared to pay, too. They make it all SUCH a hassle!

I got a ticket after not receiving a reminder about my permit expiring.I appealed it and my appeal was rejected. I ended up paying the fine because it was such a hassle trying to contact the council again.

In theory everyone did receive a refund if they did not get a reminder last year. I have already spoken to officers as yet again some people-like yourself-have not had a reminder and again officers have indicated they will look favourably on any appeals.I am not sure where you live, but you could contact your local councillor if you do not have any success.
