Very Loud Air Raid Siren / “Turbine” like noise which changes locations.

I have mentioned this before, anyone else hear it, and know the definite cause? It's not coming from the Acton Mainline works or Rail Goods Yard as previously suspected.It’s incredibly loud and moves around, sometimes from Emanuel Avenue area, Lynton Road area, and just now moving towards Central Acton, and so on, changing locations, so maybe, as I have asked before, it’s a new type of roadsweeper?Whatever it is, it’s relatively new and definitely a very, very intrusive Noise Nuisance.  Well to my ears anyway!

I live in Friary Road and have heard nothing but, in fairness, my hearing is not as good as it used to be :(

Hi Rosco.  You and I have talked about this previously and yes, I too have heard it but since then I haven't.  Saturday....didn't hear it, unfortunately, so not sure it's coming from Friary Road area.  Next time, perhaps we can text each other to calibrate.

Happening right now Saturday 19/9/20 started 09:29 and still going V strong @ 09:45 - V loud, piercing & high pitched.Acton Main Line/Horn Lane/Emanuel Av junction vicinity.

It's a possibility I suppose, although it does move around and it definitely seems sometimes to emanate from the Emanuel Avenue area and moves south towards Central Acton.It is V loud and intrusive, I can't believe people don't hear it and I'm surprised at the lack of comments on here actually.

Is it from people working on the line? They have sirens like that to warn workers when trains are coming
