Council's climate change plan- views of public needed!
Hi allEaling Council declared a climate emergency last year. It's now produced a draft plan for how to deal with this locally. It needs the voices of local people to make it happen, and make it workable. Unlike low traffic neighbourhoods there is a chance to have your say before anything changes! So if you know about schools, or trees, or how to use solar energy, or cycle routes, or anything related-- make your views known! Here's the link: https://preview.tinyurl.com/y4pxf8vtDisclaimer! I'm a green party member and we've come up with some key messages, but - but this is not about politics, it's about everyone being involved:- Ealing Council needs to be more ambitious in all of its targets to achieve the aim of becoming carbon neutral by 2030.- SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound) targets have to be set for each of the key areas, and responsibilities have to be assigned- The methodologies and standards that Ealing Council will use to monitor their progress must be publicly stated. This must include a clear baseline reference year to compare performance against.
