Knights Garage, Emanuel Ave, 4 storey flats

Application submitted for 4 storey flats plus roof deck on former Knights garage site. This has windows and balconies on 3 elevations looking directly into neighbouring gardens including ours.While this may not directly affect you it would be an extremely dangerous precedent to set regarding giving respect to boundaries and considering overlooking.Please comment ASAP - consultation ends 01 September 2020.Drawings and comments can be found here:https://pam.ealing.gov.uk/online-applications/PLAN/202509FUL

I couldn’t agree more with you Rachel. The council seem hell bent on ruining a residential area largely made up of three storey Victorian and Edwardian residential homes for families, by flooding it with high density tall buildings full of apartments. I am not against building homes but Acton does not need more apartments. One look in a local estate agent will tell you that. Thanks for posting Tony. It may not be happening on my doorstep but it sets a dangerous precedent for future developments in Acton. I will be objecting.

This has a direct impact on our house too. We moved here for the lovely village like feel. Love the area so sad to see blocks of flats being squeezed into tiny spaces that impact on others gardens and homes. It will be tragic if this gets through.We have objected.

Thanks Rosco. If you also feel strongly about the principle would you consider submitting an objection yourself? We are not against the principle of development at all - we and other neighbours supported a previous application for conversion to residential. That application was appropriate in scale and considerate to neighbours. This latest application has windows at shoulder height directly in to three neighbouring gardens and balconies directly on those same boundaries - we would literally be able to shake hands and look directly in to bedrooms and bathrooms - absolutely absurd. Unfortunately we and others have the stress of dealing with this on top of everything else going on at the moment.

You've got a massive fight/s on your hand as you well know, given this government's mantra (and Any Other if they were in power) of "Build, Build, Build!", with new legislation to cut planning red tape and assist Developers even more.LBE has a predisposition to Granting anything that comes across their desk anyway, so the outlook is not good.Of course I wish you Very Well.
