Morrisons Mask Policy

Morrisons Mask Policy  Friday July 24thErr doesn't seem to be one?OK early days but I went in thinking I would be handed a £100 fine if I didn't wear one. So I duly wore mine with my glasses steaming up as I shopped.No one else wearing a mask apart from the employees.Everyone carrying on as normal...I pointed it out some none mask wearers and just got blanked or abuse...Why bother then?Discuss...

Unfortunately, a sign on the door just gives these people the excuse their itching for, to march in maskless, argue the toss and create merry hell about the infringement of their "Rights" and other selfish garbage.Of course our Right not to be possibly infected by them doesn't matter, never works that way with such people.

Seems a good idea!Having people on the doors seemed to encourage the John Lewis shoppers I saw to don their masks.And I agree that people may not be clear about the responsibilities in a mall but not actually in a shop

There's a small shop in Acton High St which has a sign on the door saying no mask no entry. Why can't others do that?

As has been said before, normal shop staff on low/minimum wages are loathe to enforce mask wearing/gloves/whatever.And who can blame them, would you risk getting heavily abused/duffed up/stabbed, it's just not worth it to them. Security Staff are another matter but again it's not worth their while either, given the rising numbers of Offended, Aggrieved & Entitled Nutters since this thing started.

While shop staff could theoretically reprimand non-face coverers, there seems to be a general understanding that they don't and won't. So what's the point.  if something's that important, there should be 'someone to make me'!

Primark always seems to have security guards on the door so surely they could tell unmasked shoppers to do one.

An interesting response regarding not wearing masks, I wonder which modern thinking trend engendered that caring attitude?  😂

Interview with teenagers about not wearing masks in Primark in which they said 'nobody makes us'.  We could say that's an irresponsible attitude, but they have a point.  If the authorities can't be bothered to enforce the regulations, they obviously don't take them seriously, so why should we?

While people are increasingly getting the hang of wearing face coverings inside shops, I don't think everyone realises that the regulations also apply outside the shops but inside the covered 'mall'.

Went to Westfield today - never my favourite but John Lewis called. Within that store ALL staff and jolly nearly all customers wore masks. I literally saw three customers not doing so.But outside in the mall and in M&S, many fewer were wearing them at all and even fewer correctly. There weren't many older people there and the younger were largely not wearing them, or had them round the neck NOT the airways.

I think the number wearing masks is increasing.Most people just need clear instructions and to know they won't be laughed at.I won't be going into Morrisons until reasonable compliance is reported, but the online service isnt bad. (havent been into the shop since March!)

I was in there yesterday for the first time since March. All customers were wearing masks, maybe 70% of staff too. Social distancing wasn't a problem, however many staff are ignoring it (even 1m). 9/10.

Same in Londis Churchfield Road, yesterday. I forgot my mask but went home to collect it. I was the only one wearing a mask. I asked the guy at the till and he just shrugged. I glared at people who shuffled and looked down. Lets shame them into wearing a mask!

I took it up with the shop security who I would have thought might have gently reminded EACH customer upon entering they should wear a mask unless they have exceptional circumstances but the response was not worth writing home about. Oh well, I'm sure it's nots worth me getting my knickers in a twist... carry on, as you were...

Masked up or not is a reasonable and potential indicator of the wearer's intelligence level.Of course, some, I believe, are also exempt or somesuch from wearng them.I'll not comment further.  😊

You're not going to be 'handed a £100 fine'. Only the police can do that and they won't be called unless there is violence or some sort of disorder.Hopefully people will 'get with the programme' over the next few days.
