The Hounslow proposals seem to be an odd mixture of temporary 'anti-virus' measures to give pedestrians and cyclists more road space, such as in Turnham Green Terrace and Devonshire Road, mixed with some longer term, more wide ranging traffic management schemes. According to the new legislation, they all have the advantage of being 'experimental' and reversible, so we can see what the side effects are and respond accordingly. At a guess, closure of TGT and Fishers Lane under the railway bridge will push more traffic along South Parade and Acton Lane, increasing stress on the mini-roundabout junctions in front of Chiswick Park Station and by Sainsbury's, as well as at the traffic lights with CHR. In the other direction, Prebend Gardens will probably get more southbound traffic, though I assume Hounslow will have done some modelling of their own. At least, once the temporary bollards and signs go up, we'll soon see what happens.
