Acton park 23rd april

Where are the park wardens the skate boarders have broken the fences and are skating againPeople are sitting on benches 4 deep and people are still sunbathing

I was in Acton Park this weekend escorting an elderly person who is in isolation with her dog. There was plenty of space, people observed social distancing and smiled and exchanged greetings. This has been my experience pretty much every time I go out. Nevertheless I think the suggestion that local sports grounds should be opened to the public is a great one. Dogs couldn't be allowed but there are acres of extra space that could be used. First though the fenced off areas of Gunnersbury Park should be made available.

Seems you hate the place judging from your frequent negative posts. Considered moving out to the sticks? I live in Oxfordshire now and it was the best move i ever made. I rent my flat out but am selling up soon, would never consider livjng in Acton again - the place is a dump, fly-tipping central, the rubbish-strewn streets not helped by the Macdonalds near Gypsy Corner. Selfish residents who don't give a **** about anyone else, unpleasant staff in shops who don't know the first word in customer service (some of the staff in the asian grocers on the high street are friendly to be fair), crap restaurants (I can't recall a genuinely high-quality dining out experience in the 20 years i've lived (or visited) there. Outside of food stores there's a dreadful selection of high street stores unless you like visiting pound shops to buy tat. The other week I saw a rasta sporting a trail of dried faeces on the back of his jeans walking nonchanantly down the high street - the stench was awful - kind of sums the place up perfectly.

And the latest subset of Covidiots are Mummies out on their bikes with little Johnny & Sarah, blithely cycling along the internal pathways of parks and not giving way in the slightest, let alone observing any modicum of social distancing, as they brush past you.I despair.

Yes where are the Wardens,Park Patrols and the Police,as withacton ravenor park football most days,many people in the area is there a lockdown for some and not for others,lets have alevel playng field or cancel the lockdown.

"We walk there at 6 am and it starts filling up after 7 am."I start work at 7am so there's no way I'm getting to the park earlier than that :-) I have to go at lunchtime when everyone else goes. The Scrubs is really nice and empty so I go there.

Bigger issue for me is the amount of privately owned green space that could be opened up that would dramatically reduce the pressure on our parks. Looking at Wasps rugby pitches off Twyford Avenue, Acton Cricket club and David Lloyd, Ealing Cricket Club, Ealing Golf Club etc....etc....

I don't go there anymore, I drive to other parks. You're allowed to drive for exercise and until the authorities do their job and police Acton Park I'm not going anywhere near it.
