Kapten ride hailing cab service

I decided to use Kapten as they say they pay local taxes. But I’ve found when I order a cab drivers take up the request and then back out just as they are about to arrive. This means I have to wait for the next driver. Has anyone else had this problem?

Apparently Kapten and other companies such as Bolt are attempting to break into Uber's market share using funds they have raised from investors. They will do this through offering better deals to passengers and drivers. Some drivers now will ditch an Uber booking if they get one through one of the other new services. I've found Uber very useful since it launched but they have driven a hard bargain with their drivers so they don't necessarily deserve customer loyalty.

Uber and probably Kapten as well often have zones from which they are excluded from dropping off and picking up.

I used Kapten twice last November without problems, but for journeys where timing is critical I still use pre-booked minicabs.Uber seems to have gone downhill over the years. We've had several instances of Uber drivers 'arriving' at our address but actually parking a hundred yards up the road, even though there was a space right outside. One driver did that, and then insisted on dropping my wife several minutes' walk from her destination. I had to give her directions over the phone whilst she walked in the rain.

Not used Kapten but it happens with Uber as well from time to time
