General Election : The Pro Life and Honest Candidate

In the absence of any media coverage whatsoever on Samir Alsoodani the Brexit candidate of ME origin a friend contacted him for his views on pro life and womens’ issues.  Here they are:Thanks for contacting me, I would like to confirm that I support the following:- Stop discrimination against baby girls by supporting a law change to clarify that sex-selective abortion is illegal.- Bring UK law closer to the laws in the majority of Other countries in Europe by lowering the gestational time limit for abortion.- Support women in the workplace by backing policies designed to end pregnancy and maternity discrimination.Depends on whether the voter is an independent thinker rather than welded to their party of before and whether the unborn children in the womb means anything to them as to who they vote for. See my earlier post on the other candidates. Abortion up to birth itself for any reason is a high priority for Rupa Huq and the LibDem candidate as well as for Dr. Rossland of the Green Party.

That's true.  And Ealing needs fewer people.  Chastity or contraceptives, are of course, an alternative, for others than those who are raped or pressured into child-bearing.  Never managed the former nor needed the latter myself.

This planet needs fewer children to remain sustainable, and responsible mothers/parents who decide that it is better to abort a foetus than bring a child into this world that they cannot support or do not wish to have.

We most definitely do not want to end up going back to the era of the horrific back street abortions of the past.Mattock Lane has improved incredibly to walk along since  there has been this exclusion zone.  Before that nobody could walk near to the Clinic without being approached and there were pictures propped up against the boundary wall of foetuses at different stages of gestation.  Very many foetuses do not make it to term and are aborted naturally by the body and people seem to conveniently forget this.At a time when we have so much child poverty in this country and there is an increase in unwanted pregnancies in the older age groups and more difficulties getting appointments with the shortage of medical staff it is incongruous that you should consider that hard-pressed mothers should have a difficult decision made even harder.  Women can look after their family better if they can train and work for a living.  Too often it is women who draw the short straw here and maybe there are a lot of men who should be taking a lot more responsibility.  Perhaps we should be thinking more about that!

The bottom line is simple - Labour, Liberal Democrats and Green Party ALL commit to decriminalisation of abortion. This means up to birth for any reason, however it takes place, outside legal jurisdiction. Anyone voting for these parties whether they agree with up to birth abortion or not, they will have helped to put it in place. Tories and Brexit Party and the rest of the pack seem content with the status quo.

It’s not that simple. Whilst one cannot have an abortion on the grounds of the sex of the child, sex selective abortion is not explicitly illegal; one can request an abortion without stating the grounds for wanting it. Sex selection abortion exists in the UK - see this Victoria Derbyshire investigation (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wK0iYz6g9v4&mc_cid=9b9333b817&mc_eid=3eb04bbce2) or this report in the Telegraph  which found doctors turning a blind eye to the practice (https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/health/news/9099511/Abortion-investigation-doctors-filmed-agreeing-illegal-abortions-no-questions-asked.html?mc_cid=9b9333b817&mc_eid=3eb04bbce2). Non invasive prenatal testing allows the sex of the child to be identified early on in pregnancy. Attempts to make sex selective abortion explicitly illegal have been blocked largely by Labour MPs who support abortion. The whole issue is not talked about much because it is politically incorrect to point out that sex selection to abort girls is a practice largely found in certain Asian cultures.Abortion has always been a matter on which MPs can vote with their conscience (as on euthanasia and the death penalty), not bound by party instructions. What is disturbing in this election is that Labour, the Lib Dems and the Greens have all included commitments to abortion in their manifestos, thereby making it a party political issue.

Brexit is one issue. Abortion up to birth is another. As is her very pro active push to get zones around abortion centres vigil and prayer group free. No freedom of speech, right to peaceful assembly etc. She is practically a member of Ealing Labour council but denies the closeness of the association saying she has problems with them too.

Wonder what? Having analysed things Huq has written,  I believe she has discredited herself on any number of occasions and,  because she is rather an excitable baggage, who writes before she thinks, given away her true character.  She defended the vile anti-semitic posts of Naz Shah.  Failed to condemn the violent language used by Jess Phillips and again Naz Shah and has failed to help me and my neighbours with our problems, even ignoring evidence we put to her about an HMO landlord whose tenants had been living in filth and fire hazard. It is all  set out in my post about her.  Read it and you will not need to go on wondering.    I am afraid her view of Brexit does not weigh with me in the light of my view of her moral character.

see Righttolife.org to see voting intentions and the signing of either pro life or pro choice pledges. Dr Crossland has signed the pledge to support abortion up to birth and Rupa Huq supports decriminalisation of abortion which would lead to the same - up to birth for any reason.
