Free furniture and firewood

Are There any charities that need good, if slightly worn furniture? E.g. Perhaps for a first flat after having been rough sleeping? Got some perfectly ok small cupboards, tables etc which the British Heart Foundation wouldn't take because "the top is a bit scratched" and "people don't want old furniture" (fair enough I suppose if they're for re-selling). Or if anyone else wants some and don't mind them a bit battered and happy to give them a bit of TLC, as they say on The Repair Shop. I don't want to just put them in a dump, seems such a waste.Also have some assorted sizes of logs if anyone wants them, and has a decent axe or saw to chop them into manageable pieces.I don't have a car so anyone interested will have to arrange own collection. DM me if interested in either.

So happy to see that you had success with finding a home for your worn but still serviceable with a bit of TLC furniture.  If the British Heart Foundation can afford to be fussy I guess that is both good and bad news.  Some of the older stuff is much better quality than the younger!

Oops sorry, only just noticed your message.  I have no idea what type of tree I am afraid, as the logs were donated by someone who had been clearing their garden.  Lots of odd sizes as well, rather than regular "logs".

I hope you find some takers.  Here is one charity in Shepherds Bush which upcycles furniture and run courses that people may be interested in.  I'm pretty sure that I remember them advertising for small pieces of furniture for workshops at one time.  The more alternatives we find to the "dump" the better.https://www.petitmiracles.org.uk/events/furniture-upcycling-workshops/
