I think we all need to calm down a bit. So the recycling collection is behind schedule... Ours should have been collected on Saturday (two days late, as advised) but was not. The food bins were collected. On Thursday, the streets were lined with bins, with people ignoring the two-days-late message in the council mag - as well as the one that bins should not be left on pavements in the first place.People have more rubbish/recycling during the festive period, and hence the lorries have to drop off their load more frequently at their depot, and thus it takes longer to do the rounds, with less staff as well as some are on holiday. It would also help if people flattened their plastic bottles/tetra packs etc - way more space in the bin. They are just too lazy. This coming week, the rubbish collection that is supposedly one day late may very well be two days late. I think we can all survive the extra day. However, what is truly stupid is street cleaning on a Saturday morning from 7am in residential roads when all the cars are there, and the street cleaners cannot remove the leaves that have got stuck by the kerb - and there are endless bins left on pavements to move/navigate around.
