Problems with garden waste collection.

I pay extra over and above the rates to have the green waste collected  
However it has not been collect for four weeks now. Despite four calls to customer services I have had no feedback from Amey or the council.
The green bin has to go behind our hedge and for three years has been collected from the same place without any problem.
Amey apparently logging it as “not out ie not visible” from the street.  Where has this excuse suddenly come from? It has NEVER been a problem until now.
I know the teams have a list of who is paying so there can be no excuse for not checking properly.
Who is at fault here? Are the teams getting sloppy, Is the council expecting them to do too much, Has the council changed the collection guidelines without telling their residents?

My sister's house is in a small cul-de-sac which is named as part of the through road, so putting the bin another metre into the road does not make it much more visible but it would block one of the few parking spaces.

Yep same here in Berrymead gardens. I am now having to put my two green bags outside my gate to make sure that they are emptied. I am so annoyed as we have to pay for this service and do not get any rebate for non collections.

My sister's green bin has only been emptied about 3 times this year despite many complaints. She does not have internet or smart phone so reports of missed collections must be made by telephone between 1700 on the day and 1200 on the following day, but her collection day is Friday and the office is closed for the weekend.. I have been told that refunds are not issued for missed collections, and the few times that I have reported on line on her behalf have been ignored. The bins are covered by two CCTV cameras.  I have complained yet again. We have to pay the council, not the contractors, so it is the council that we will take to court for fraud if they do not sort it. I have been told that it will be investigated over 10 working days, so I am now waiting to hear from the council before going to court.

Indeed, our green bin has also been forgotten about in the past fortnight, after several misses over the summer. Ours is easy to spot. I'm pretty certain they've simply not been down the street. And I'm afraid the only way to contact them not using the online form is to ring them, I suspect.

Change in personnel I expect.  You can get jobsworths anywhere. Have they now reduced their staffing to just the chap driving the lorry in which case I can understand him not wanting to stop?  Disappointing that there is no feedback and reply to your complaints but there are presumably an awful lot If everyone who has had a missed collection bothers to complain.

Been here, albeit regarding the food waste recycling buckets, so Good Luck.What's infuriating is the Council's usual immediate stance that you, the Council Taxpayer, are in the wrong, and that Amey are "right".I hope you fare much better Mr Crossley, but expect six months plus of dogged emails and telephone conversations before it finally and begrudgingly dawns on LBE that you, are in fact, actually "right."
