Acton Community Forum and North Acton

Acton Community Forum re-named itself Acton Forum, then disappeared. However the entire ground floor of Lyra Block 2 near North Acton Station which was dedicated to local community use has remained empty apart from a few tables and chairs since the block was built several years ago. Is this likely to remain as it is, similar to the notorious "North Acton Square"?

Thanks for the information, does that imply that the Manor House Community Trust could have taken over administration of the Lyra Block 2 facility? I will look for any new information provided on the windows of Lyra Block 2 amongst the various adverts, and try to find any more information on the internet. I would still like to see it really available for use by the community. Some time ago I asked whether there was interest in a community computer club where members could help each other learn about computing, but was told that all that could be provided was totally locked down internet access via Microsoft, with not even a way to learn about setting up a computer for use let alone adding and configuring additional software. There seems to be a total block against education. I have been told that "kids might join and learn how to access the internet", despite kids doing that at school and writing software to run experiments on the International Space Station or drive robots.

Above all, as we said in a campaign we led a couple of years ago, we #LOVEACTON and our glorious, diverse, and vibrant community.However, all good things must come to an end, and in the current economic climate, we are unable to continue to function. I am delighted that the new Community Hub in South Acton will be run by the Manor House Development Trust, who have a great deal of experience of community work in northwest London. Do take the opportunity to meet them and to see what they can offer to you and your community groups.
