Noise Acton Main Line Station

Has anyone else heard the strange sound I hear every time a fast train goes to Paddington? It has been audible for over two months. It sounds like a rail or a sleeper is loose or trains are hitting some sort of obstruction. Network Rail said it might be investigated by the end of October. I reminded them of the several derailments, including fatalities, on that line but health and safety does not appear to be their priority.

Network Rail operatives at work 3pm this morning. Throb or rattle eliminated. It has taken the combined efforts of Dr Rupa Huq, MP, Sadiq Khan, Dr Onkar Sahota, AM, Cllr Daniel Crawford,TfL and Ealing Pollution Control Team over four months to get Network Rail to fix the problem. I have suggested to Network Rail that some form of community compensation is in order. However, finishing the station might help.

The Network Rail engineer has been round to my flat. The noise has been coming from a long metal cover over a defect between the fast Paddington-bound lines. He said it will be rectified over the coming weekend.

Ealing's Noise Pollution Team is investigating the noise.The officer is Mr Lamin Tamba, the telephone munber is 020 8825 8111 and the email address is pollutioncontrol@ealing.gov.uk. I am trying to arrange a visit from the officer to my flt and the station. I do not have a council case number yet so if anyone else has a complaint use Network Rail's case number 190821-000276. I hope that Network Rail does not hide behind the Railways Act.

I received an email from Network Rail yesterday advising that my complaint 190821-000276 has been closed without stating a reason. I emailed them this morning telling them the noise is still interrupting telephone conversations and television and radio. I cannot hear from the station or the industrial site but it is audible at the entrance to Gowing & Pursey on Horn Lane.

I complained soon after it started, happens all through the night, and my most recent communication from NR was the same, "Will be investigated by the end of October."!!I'm frankly amazed that those who live in Acton House right next to it haven't screamed blue murder en masse.
