Bursts of Hammering from Acton Mainline/Rail Goods Yard in Horn Lane.

Anyone know what this is all about, it's been going on for weeks now including at ungodly times throughout the night?Is it "riveting" or something to do with the steel framework of the new station, or some sort of track laying, or ......... ?Everyone who lives within earshot of the Goods Rail Yard will be immensely relieved when Crossrail (sorry, "Elizabeth Line") is finally finished.

Seems it might be caused when trains are racing through the AML Platforms at all hours. It started 6 to 8 weeks ago when Network Rail must have changed or added something which is what is causing the loud "rattling".I have put in a Noise Complaint today to Network Rail but if you can hear it and it bothers you please also Complain.Strength in numbers and all that, if you want Results.  :-)

Have I?Are you saying then and know for definite that it is track laying?Whatever is causing it I can't believe there's not more complaints about this Noise Nuisance, but I suppose it's just the ole "Acton Apathy."

Well, it's still going on, including throughout the night.Anyone any idea who and what this racket is? Every time I have gone for a looksee Sods Law invokes and it bloody stops.  Track laying of some kind?Strange it continues, as it's right in the back garden of the two Crawford family Ward Councillors and I can't see they'd be happy with it.
