Business Support for the NCS Challenge

I am Holly, Programme Manager for the NCS The Challenge programme in Ealing. We are due to have around 700 young people take part on our programme in South West London alone this summer across July and August. As we are finalising out set-up for the programme, we are still in need to find organisations to work with by the end of this month.  We are looking for local organisations for our young people to engage, volunteer or fundraise for.  I have outlined the follow information within this email: ·         Summary of Programme and impact of partnerships·         Partnerships  we are in need of Who are we? NCS is a government backed programme that helps young people build skills for work life and transition into adulthood. Our NCS programme is made up of a series of challenges where participants build and develop trust, responsibility, understanding and empathy for themselves, each other and their communities. Within South West London we deliver the programme in Ealing, Hillingdon, Hounslow, Kingston, Merton & Richmond. However, The Challenge delivers the programme nationally and across all boroughs in London. Partnerships we need: We cannot run our programme without opportunities like this. It allows us to offer young people a space for personal development and exposure to different platforms and closer connections to their community. I have attached documents that outline and detail the two different partnerships in more detail. ·         Enterprise Challenge Partnership: Up to 78 young people complete a social enterprise challenge you set for them in one afternoon.  This is a very exciting and innovative partnership, working with the intelligent and creative minds of young people to unlock new perspectives to the work you do. ·         Community Partnership: This is vital to connecting young people to their local community, issues and an understanding of a wider world. A team of 12-13 young people focus on planning a full day of volunteering for your organisation to support either the people you work with or the work that you do. Young people will be required to get to know your organisation & service users; Plan, facilitate and fundraise for the volunteer day. If you believe that this may be something that you can support with then it would be great to organise a time to speak about the opportunity further over the phone.
