Abolition of Acton Central Ward - is that what you want?

So the latest proposals for reorganising local democracy in Ealing are up for consultation.The idea is to abolish Acton Central and just have a vast north of the Uxbridge Road/Vale up to beyond A40 ward and another South down to goodness knows where.So the centre, the hub, the heart of Acton will have no representation as a unit at all.Oddly, of course, it's not proposed to do the same about the centre of Ealing.If you object to this, and I already have, the place to go is consultation.lgbce.org.uk  We have until April 15th.I raised the matter at the ward forum and no-one (except our about-to-be-out of a ward councillors) seemed aware of it at all.

There are to be all three councillor wards apart from the two smaller wards with just two, none to have a single councillor.

Why do the two small wards in Southall get two councillors and the larger wards, including north Acton and north Greenford, only get one?

The north one didnt seem to retain much identity and was very long and HUGE

Looks to me like the boundary commission have worked hard to try and retain a distinct identity of Acton wards. This would have been a lot more difficult if the was one for the central area and then satellite wards which probably would need to incorporate non-Acton areas to reach the necessary size.

Nobody interested that there will be no representation of Acton as a town centre when this goes through?
