The dumping of christmas trees in the street

Why, every year, do people think it acceptable to drag their tree out on the pavement and leave it there? I am no fan of most of what this council does, but it does at least provide collection points where it will take them away for free.To just dump it outside your house is sheer laziness and selfishness and whoever is doing it should be ashamed of themselves.

It's alright I use a green box and a metal bin to keep a black bag in until it is full enough to put out. I wish other people wouldn't just accept having their homes, gardens and streets despoiled like this.  They are also dangerously close to the windows and door.

Not sure if they have any left, but if you want one and are over 60, tell them you.are no longer able to move a normal size bin and will need assistance, but could probably manage one of the smaller bins.

Telling everyone that smaller bins did not exist when we could see them was particularly galling.  In properties with a very small front garden it is very difficult to manoeuvre them past each other - you have to get them both out so as to have the right one out - so I can't imagine there is much room for a Christmas tree as well!

I did have an argument with  Julian Bell as to why he had bought so many large wheelie bins when there are so many terrace properties and so many single and two person households. He refused to tell me the unit costs of each size of bin because of commercial confidentiality. So one can only assume he got a job lot of large bins as part of the deal with the contractors and the requisite number of smaller bins was not part of the deal.  We have the smaller size bins, which are only ever half full or less, after having a tantrum with him and the council and standing my ground.

A lot of the wheelie bins are too big, aren't they?  They are also a problem if placed on the path blocking access to the front door.

As with all waste, yes all wheelie bins for collection, Christmas trees should be left at the property curtilage on the day of black bin collection. Bins should replaced on the curtilage, not left on the street.Nota Bene all Ealing refuse collectors

https://www.ealing.gov.uk/news/article/1844/make_a_recycling_resolution_for_your_christmas_treeStreetwatchers in Acton used to put notices on flytipping identifying it as flytipping and that it was a fineable offence together with how much the fine could be.  This pointed out to all those having to negotiate items put out on the pavement that they should NOT be there.  Hopefully this would also inform and embarrass those careless and inconsiderate householders and traders to think again.
