Booking visitor parking through Ringo seem to work OK for me here in Zone M.

I was able to pay for my sister to park her car for 3 days in the shared bays with my Ringo account, just added her registartion,. We are zone MM.

I actually don't need to park a car but I went through the process and had same reply as you. It would allow me to park a car in the shared parking bays though. I am in Westbourne Avenue. CPZ MM.
