Barking dog

There is a dog that barks all the time somewhere between the Myrtle Rd and Shakespeare Rd. Is there anyone else being disturbed by this? Thank you. Paula

If you can't see the dog then yes, you have to report it to the council as a noise complaint first. But if you can see the dog stuck outside in distress then you can report it to the RSPCA as cruelty. The problem is no one can see it unless you've got eyes over the fence / from a very high window!

Claire I agree with that and I am happy to drop a note to begin with. But right now I do know have an address.The barking is mainly during day time (left outside when owners go to work?)Anyone Send me a personal message if you would know where this comes from

Be careful who you report it to, the last thing that should happen is that the dog is put down.  As a first step, try to ascertain where the barking is coming from, and if you can pinpoint it to a house, put a note through the letter box.  Anonymously if you prefer.  I did that once and it transpired that the dog was shut out of the house for a few hours a couple of times a week - whatever the weather - by the cleaning lady, and the owners didn't know.  It stopped after that.  We have a similar situation around the top of Rugby Road/Hatfield Road, but I haven't managed to pinpoint the house yet.  It's often for several hours very late at night by which time I am in my nightwear...

Well but does anybody know where the poor dog lives? Not sure we can do anything until we are sure about that.I agree that dog is really upset.

Think you do have to report it to the Council first as a noise nuisance, then if need for concern the Council contact the RSPCA.

That dog is clearly in massive distress. I hear it bark all the time and it breaks my heart. If you can see it, or see who the owners are, you should report it to the RSPCA. They don't have the capacity to investigate just barking (which is all I can confirm as I can't see it) - but the barking must be due to the dog being locked outside, alone. It's clearly really upset and if you can see it, you should report it as animal cruelty! Can anyone see it??

Noise abatement, don't think they should be keeping people awake at night, they would probably do something about that.

Ah, but you all forget, it's the Human Right of these people to let their mongrels keep everyone else within earshot disturbed and awake after 11 pm. (Is it even acceptable before 11 pm?)Just don't expect PC LBE to do anything about it.

Mark - that is another dog - sounds like it is a little dog. Every every night as you say from 11pm till midnight. And yes that dog lives near the corner Chaucer Road/Myrtle Road. Very irritating it is too.However, the dog Paula mentions is another one that barks very loudly during the day time, and seems to live Myrtle Road but probably nearer to Shakespeare Road. Very annoying as well ...

It is every single night around 11pm till midnight. I guess they must let it out in the garden.I am pretty sure it lives in one of the houses on Myrtle Road, on the Chaucer Road side.And yes, it is really annoying and I love dogs, cats etc.
