This is part of a bigger picture, but please no comments on the "wrong type of people”. We have a local authority running roughshod over their electorate in almost every department, planning, non support over public transport issues, selling or privatising the borough's assets, not managing refuse collections and many other things borough wide. Before donning the gilets jaunes, we need to stop moaning, come together and develop a borough wide strategy to make the elected members and officers whose wages we pay listen to us. Yes, they have very little money, but they have not managed well the budget they have, If you are not a member of your local residents’ group, join it now and support them in their dealings with the ward councillors. Last year we set up Ealing Matters as an umbrella group for resident and community groups throughout the borough. As a united front we will stand a much better chance of the council listening to us. Ealing Matters website should be up and running early next year and there will be a meeting in January for representatives from local community and residents’ groups. In the meantime look at the Facebook page, you can look at it without joining, but not make comments. The research we did last year makes interesting reading and bears very little relationship with the council’s own research.
