Fly tipping at south Acton station .

They have taken away the bins now everyone just dropping their papers ,cans , cigarettes butts.The  council you can't make it up.

LibbyI have emailed mik no response.I emailed Gary Malcolm which  he is not a south Acton councillor, but did help me with regards the rubbish I will resend my email to mik .

Many street bins are used for household rubbish, taking them away does not solve the problem, education could.  Mik Sabiers (sabiersM@ealing.gov.uk) a ward councillor for South Acton is Capo di Capo of waste for the borough, it would be interesting to hear how he is going to sort out the problem. Is it the design of the new build? location of bins? inadequate bins? If the estate is owned and managed by a housing association then they should be held responsible, Mr. Sabiers needs to sort this out, it is what he gets the extra stipend for, and when he has come up with a solution roll it out to the rest of the borough.

I got a email from my local Councillor.Seems people living in Acton gardens were using the bins for house hold rubbishn.So they have taken away  the bins .So I hope Acton gardens get letters out to the flats and explain that its not on .

Unfortunately recycling bins are often contaminated with other waste.  It is the bags of mixed waste that get put in which irritate me.  Is this done by people who live above shops?  Why aren't their landlords providing bins?The wheelie bins are far too large for many properties and I've seen many with whole cardboard boxes stuffed in them.  I bet whoever did that would never pack a suitcase like that.  Time for the Council to visit all the shops to make sure that they have current waste contracts and to enquire about the facilities that the flats above have.  There are new regulations (came in October 2018) about Homes in Multiple Occupation.  The Council have more powers regarding the waste emanating from them.

It is definitely time that more people took responsibility for their waste.  If they bought less and bought more carefully and didn't waste what they bought they would surely have less to dispose of.

In japan they removed all bins from the streets and everyone takes their rubbish home with them, the streets are absolutely pristine. Unfortunately, Acton is not Tokyo and the street here are full of feral scum bags who think nothing of dumping a used mattress and broken wardrobe outside my front door when they feel like it.

Its just terrible no where to recycle and with a sainsburys just a few yards away loads wrappers etc and empty bottles and cans.

Is this another experiment by the Council as they did elsewhere to see what happens when they remove the bins?Have we ever heard the results of those experiments?The coffee cups really irritate me.  Just balanced on top of everything and snything - and UNRECYCLABLE.  Time to get your own reusable keep cup!  They are very fashionable and you often get a discount from the coffee shop.
