Acton Park Market - 2nd November

Walking past Acton Park yesterday on the East Churchfield side, noticed a banner stating that Acton Park Market is starting every Saturday as of 2nd November from 10am-2pm on the West side of the park by the station, selling groceries, street food and crafts.I think it's a wonderful - if chilly! - idea!

What is happening to the market? Is it on its last legs already. Hardly any stalls last week! I was really looking forward to the promised craft staĺls in the run up to Christmas.

I don't think the shops in Churchfield Rd need to worry - I saw only sausages in buns, empanadas, pancakes and (admittedly rather good) coffee for sale there yesterday. And no candlestick-makers! Rather disappointing, and not what I'd call a market, but, as others have noted, no matter - we have some great food opportunities now  in Churchfield Rd, so let's make the most of them!

I have nothing against a market.However we  have an excellent baker, butcher and Veg shop in Churchfield Road, If we want them to survive I suggest we use them first rather than allow non-local businesses to cherry-pick the best days for local business .... but maybe go to the market for candlesticks?

Great idea! Wish we had something like this in North Acton playing fields. Beats travelling to the local supermarket / corner shop by car.
