Station House - despite new chef and up market menu the management is aggressive and rude
I was excited as a local resident to try the new menu at the Station House.I like to support local business. I arrived to find a table outside ( incredibly lucky ) got menus . I go to the Station house a lot and know many of the staff so somewhat surprised when the " manager " told me my wine from Park and Bridge wasnt allowed and he would need to remove it despite me saying I wanted to order drinks and food. Anyway he took my wine away and I went inside to order. I decided with the football screen inside and general noise outside to leave. I explained that due to the football I would eat at home but return another night and asked for my wine back . I THEN got a string of abuse and decided to leave.Clearly the manager of thought I was going to drink the wine I bought and not buy drinks BUT as I was originally about to order drinks and food and he has confiscated my outside purchase.. The abuse was in called for... As a guy in his late 50s and a regular surely the mgt could have used his judgement and not tried to screem at me .This is a real shame as I won't return but I suspect they won't care but if they are serious of becoming an restaurant and not a pub with pizza the ATTiTUDE need to change
