Tarantella

Does anyone go there?  It is always empty when I pass and all I can see is that horrible green. Isn't their décor and customer visibility a bit off-putting?Or is it brilliant (for the price!)

We popped in for dinner Saturday night, the meatballs with gorgonzola were spectacular, (my wife took the recipie from the chef). We have been in a few times and the food is always delicous, hopefully they will start to see some more business soon!

I went in on the day - or after - it opened for a takeaway pizza.  The pizza was great, but the decor and lighting iffy.  I popped in last week to let them know about the comments on here, and they suggested speaking to the manager the next day, as he had a day off. I explained I was unable to, but suggested to them many people on this website were concerned about the decor, lighting and looking empty etc, that due to these factors, they wouldn't want them to shut down.  They did say they were aware of the decor etc.  The only way a good restaurant will survive on the high street is if people use it - there really isn't much else on the high street, so support it!  Look beyond the decor and emptiness, and it won't be so empty next time!

After reading all the positive comments on here we tried La TarantellaWe loved it.  The pizza is sensational - one of the best we have had and the pasta in the Fileja Al Ragu perfect alongside the melt-in-your mouth beef.This place is a huge asset to Acton and I strongly recommends giving it a go if you haven’t already.  We can’t wait for our next visit.

We get delivery a lot and they have most or all of the menu.Their wine is amazing!Pizza’s are also really good :-)

I went last week for lunch with two friends. We liked the food and the wine was delicous. Only us eating, but it was a Monday. Two motor bike guys collected pizzas for delivery. i wonder if they deliver the rest of the menu?

I had a fantastic takeaway pizza from there last week. For my money it’s almost as good as Santa Maria in Ealing which is widely thought of as one of the best pizzerias in London. This place is a shining beacon of hope on Acton High St. Hopefully they will stick it out till things improve in the area.

I went there recently, and was really impressed with the food and service.  Sadly we were the only ones there...although it was early evening on a Monday!  I would highly recommend and hope it survives!

I echo others on this thread. Great food and staff. We need to support local businesses such as this if want the high street to improve. If you haven't tried it yet give it a go you won't be disappointed

Tarantella is my new favourite.  The seafood pasta is divine.  Unfortunately the decor and lighting let it down massively but hopefully they'll listen to comments

I expect they were more inspired by 'people, people, people'. There are new flats to come in the old Town Hall and the Oaks development and they were going to be exactly opposite a nice Curzon cinema... Plenty of restaurants already in Churchfield Road - it's about time something good happened to the High Street.

It's not just the fried chicken shops which put me off on the high road, it's the rubbish that some shops leave outside on the pavement.  Quite often you walk past piles of dirty bin bags and the pavements are stained with bin juice as a result.  The whole place seems grubby and certainly would put me off eating anywhere around there. Regarding Tarantella, it baffles me why they would have chosen that space to start a nice restaurant.  Have they never heard of the phrase "location, location, location"?!

Yup. The flats being built will certainly drive the an increased need for better shops and restaurants. It baffles me how that many fried chicken shops can turn a profit.

You're right, the decor isn't the best, but the food is good and this is a good chance to revive the High Street with places you might actually want to eat at if fried chicken isn't your thing. My guess is they're hoping to profit from the large number of flats which will eventually open opposite. But if we don't spend some quid in there, they will close, and we'll be back to square one

Thanks all. They may be good at food but they are not good at décor.....proving that one can't be brilliant at everything!  I'm sure they have lost potential customers for that reason.

I've eaten there a couple of times, and will return. I think the previous posts say it all - great food, friendly staff, horrible décor. Salt cod is lovely.

The foods really good. We have been a couple of times and it gets busy in the evenings. When we went inside I forgot it was on the high street. Try it out you won’t be disappointed!

The food is good and the staff are friendly, welcoming and generous (free limoncello gets my vote), but this place is badly let down by its lack of atmosphere, harsh lighting and unattractive green sign, and looks offputting from outside. I would love it to succeed, but I think they need to rethink their design and make the place look more appealing, if it's going to do as well as it deserves to.

They are our neighbours!  The staff are lovely and the food is great.  Go and try them out!The wonderful Genuine Italian closed down too soon (I still grieve for their spaghetti carbonara).  We need to support this place if we want good traditional Italian food in Acton.We have lived here six years and seen so many cafes and restaurants come and go in this location.  These guys deserve to succeed!

The food is good and it is worth going to . I agree the decor lets it down though , all they need to do is put some half curtains up so it is less like a goldfish bowl and gives ambience. Don't let it put you off as the food more than makes up for it and the staff are lovely.

I have eaten at the Chiswick original many times and it is always excellent. Did consider trying the Acton branch as an alternative but it was empty when we went by and didn't look like a particularly attractive place to eat. Bet the food is actually great which it will be if it is half as good as the one on Elliot Road.
