Churchfield Road - Deadline is tomorrow.

A Council Highways engineer called me during the week to clarify " my concerns" about Churchfield Roadworks. I assured him I was only one residents amongst many who are concerned. I suggested that a public meeting might be a useful way forward and that CANForum would help organise. He said he would get back to me.

There was no reply on 24th, however, an apology arrived this morning and it stated that council officers are meeting tomorrow (26th) but no promise of when new information will be sent.Probably same gone to all who responded.I will reply and suggest an on-site meeting with retailers and residents.

So did I - and nothing specific about extending the consultation period as most of it was over Xmas and New year. Ho hum.

I had this reply from Ealing Council today:"Thank you for your email and apologies for not responding to you sooner.We have received a large number of emails from residents and businesses in the area with related concerns. Your comments have been logged and to reassure you, I am working with colleagues in our Highways and Parking Services teams to address these concerns and will get back to you with a detailed response and update on Wednesday 24th January."

Clare I can only apologise. No one in their right mind lets me near a website so I let the volunteer who looks after the site know there was a problem and it will be fixed soonest. Some glitch.I thought we had removed the need to have posts reviewed and will look at that too. Thank you for letting me know. I have your letter.

I copied you in to my email to Highways, Maire. Did you not receive it? Sent at 15.15 today. Happy to DM you if you didn't.I have received an email from CANForum but the link doesn't appear to have been included in the email. This does seem a little discouraging - I wonder how many others have tried and failed?I'd have thought that when trying to collect public opinions, it is a good idea to make it as quick and simple as possible which this doesn't appear to be.
