2206 on a Sunday night and it feels like we are under attack by massed helicopters...What's going on out there? Robbery, prison escape, lunatic?Any ideas?

Can hear/see them over Maldon Road too. Have given NPAS London (New name for the MPS helicopter division) a Tweet. Will let you know if they reply.

I've asked them to keep an eye on my back garden tonight to see if they can spot which one of the many neighbourhood cats keeps coming and crapping on our lawn.

News on Twitter is there are some police cars and maybe an ambulance on Churchfield Road right now.
NPAS London has tweeted they were searching for suspects involved in a vehicle pursuit.
Sounds rather disproportionate - plus they seemed to be flying around in ever-decreasing circles - right overhead.Wonder if they caught them....

I wouldn't say it's disproportionate - I'd rather have a helicopter buzzing overhead than police cars and sirens having a high speed chase around Acton, causing untold damage, only to have the scrotes leg it over a garden fence and get away.At least the chopper can track them in or out of the car.I do hope they caught them.

QPR versus Chelsea boys

Quite right Elly. The MPS helicopter is presumably very expensive to operate and anyone wishing to scrap it is likely to point to complaints about noise disturbance to bolster their argument. However, the people grumbling because they had to reach for the remote control and turn up the volume to hear Gogglebox last night would be screeching for a fleet of helicopters to find the person responsible for any crime of which they were a victim.

Also posted on NPAS Twitter account at 03.15: "W3 area searching for a collapsed female. Located by ground officers in a ditch safe and well". How very Acton.

Didn't know there were many ditches around??
