The Japanese souffle pancake phenomenon is coming to Ealing with the imminent opening of Fuwa Fuwa in the Broadway Shopping Centre.

There has been a rash of this kind of business appearing across London and the south east recently driven by social media influencers posting picture of these visually appealing desserts on Instagram and Tik Tok.

Fuwa Fuwa is one of the originators of the trend having started up a kiosk in the Westfield in east London in 2017 and since expanding into multiple locations including Soho and Windsor. It will be offering half price pancakes this weekend.

Héfaure, located in Chinatown in central London opened its doors in 2019 and Fluffy Fluffy has also been busy launching new branches.

At the new local Fuwa Fuwa branch, they will be offering toppings on the signature pancakes, from maple syrup or Nutella to seasonal fruits or matcha. The new store will offer both dine-in and takeaway options.

Andrew Rollings, Centre Director at Ealing Broadway, said, “Japanese soufflé pancakes have taken the world by storm, and we’re excited to bring a taste of this global trend to West London.

“Fuwa Fuwa’s popular menu options are a fantastic addition to our dining line-up, and I have no doubt they’ll quickly become a firm favourite — whether you’re a pancake lover or trying them for the first time.”

The new restaurant will join other food and drink outlets at the centre, which includes Arise Coffee Roasters, Comptoir Libanais, Jamaica Blue and itsu.
