A Cinderella Story with Big Hair and Bigger Tunes

Questors panto this year is an 1980s extravaganza

This Christmas, The Questors Theatre invites audiences to step into a neon-lit fairytale as Cinderella gets a bold makeover. Written by James Rushbrooke, the pantomime reimagines the classic tale with a riotous 1980s twist — think shoulder pads, synth beats, and a heroine who’s more Footloose than fragile.

In this version, Cyndi is tired of her dreary life at the launderette and ready to show her True Colours. But will she find love with Prince Adam in Nakatomi City, or does the arrival of a Stranger in a Strange Land mean the Power of Love will take her in a different direction? Expect bad attitudes, big tunes, and even bigger hair as Cyndi takes charge of her destiny.

Questors’ pantomime is a long-standing Ealing tradition, drawing families from across west London. This year’s production promises a glitter-fuelled joyride through rebellion, romance and ridiculousness, with plenty of audience participation and tongue-in-cheek humour.

To add to the fun, the theatre is running a costume competition. Audience members are encouraged to dig out their leg warmers, dust off their shoulder pads, and embrace their inner Material Girl. The best-dressed guest will be invited to the ball to dance All Night Long with the cast — proving once again that The Winner Takes It All.
