The Questors Theatre in Ealing is to stage a production of Trojan Barbie a play by Christine Evans inspired by Euripides' Trojan Women.

It retells the epic fall of Troy through the modern eyes of an unlikely heroine and against the vivid reality of modern warfare. Lotte, a 21st century doll repairer, is captured while touring the ruins of Troy and flung back into ancient war-torn times.

The work collides classical Greek characters and plot with the misadventures of a lost tourist. Through this juxtaposition, it aims to exposes the trauma and trials women have faced since war first raged thousands of years ago.

The winner of the Playwrights First "Plays for the 21st Century" Award it is running from 21-29 March. Performances are at 7:30pm except for Sunday 23 March when it takes place at 2:30pm and there is no show on Monday 24 March.

Tickets cost £16, £13 for concessions or £12 for students.
