A children’s nursery in South Ealing has been awarded a ‘Good’ Rating for its early years provision.

The Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills (Ofsted) inspected Jumpers! Nursery, which is run by the YMCA St Paul's group in August of this year.

Set up in 2018, the nursery operates from a purpose-built building in the grounds of the YMCA in Ealing and receives funding to provide free early education for children aged two, three and four years.

The inspectors’ report praises the caring and positive environment in which the children can learn and play. It remarks on the warm and supportive relationship between leaders and staff, and how they work effectively in partnership with parents.

The report also highlighted further strengths, including the provision for children with extra needs, including special educational needs, disabilities or children with English as an additional language.

It describes how the children are encouraged to be confident and independent, and how good behaviour and choices are positively reinforced. The children are performing well across all seven areas of learning, and any gaps or needs are quickly identified, and appropriate support put in place.

Kristina Lastoweckyi, Head of Children, Youth & Family Work at YMCA St Paul’s Group, said, “We are extremely pleased to have been given a Good rating by the Ofsted inspection team – and are delighted with the positive feedback they have provided about our nursery setting.
The report not only recognises the quality of the early years care we provide, but also recognises our work to build around the needs of children and their families.”

Sharon Pickerill, Children Youth and Community Services Manager at YMCA St Paul’s Group, added, “The Good rating is a fantastic reflection of the incredibly hard work that goes on at Jumpers! Nursery and I would like to thank all our staff for their ongoing hard work and commitment.

"We recognise that there is always more to do and are ambitious for the future. We are committed to delivering the very best provision for early years care.”
