To mark National Croquet Week, which runs from 19 to 25 May, Ealing Croquet Club is running a programme of Introduction to Croquet sessions on Sunday 25 May.

Last October the club took on a 15-year lease from Ealing Council and have since been working to restore the historic pavilion in Lammas Park. At the same time the club is expanding its programme of activities at the site.

A spokesperson for the club said, “This is a perfect opportunity to come down to Lammas Park and find out what croquet is all about. The sessions will be led by qualified club coaches and experienced members will be on hand to offer support and guidance. Croquet is a fun and sociable game that offers something for everyone, whatever ability. Beginners welcome! “

This site remains committed to providing local community news and public interest journalism.

Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets.

However, the readership that these stories generates is often below that needed to cover the cost of producing them. Our financial resources are limited and the local media environment is intensely competitive so there is a constraint on what we can do.
