Man Fights for Life After Southall Crash


Arrest made after driver did not stop at the scene

A man in his forties is in a critical condition in hospital after being hit by a car on Uxbridge Road in the early hours of Sunday morning (15 October).

The collision took place in Southall at the junction with Greenford Road.

The victim was standing at a bus stop at 5.55am when he was struck by the car. His next of kin are being supported by specialist officers.

The driver of the vehicle did not stop but police later arrested a man close the scene. He was detained on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and has been bailed pending further enquiries.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are investigating. They are particularly keen to hear from anyone who captured the collision on dash cam, who were in the area around the time of the collision or have any information regarding the driver of the vehicle.

Any witnesses yet to speak with police are asked to call the SCIU at Alperton Traffic Garage on 020 8246 9820 quoting CAD 1496/15Oct.
