Acton Christmas Fair - 8th December

and your chance to help homeless charity St Mungo's

This year's fair will be on The Mount (in front of Morrison's/St Mary's Church), London W3 on Saturday, 8 December from 10am to 4pm. It will be virtually weatherproof, with almost everything under cover or in large marquees.

SANTA

Plans are rapidly firming up. Here are some of the crafts and other items that will be on sale:

* bags, rugs, felt/woven jewellery
* crocheted Christmas baubles, lavender bags, cushions, patchwork kits, knitted cards, tea cosies and hen egg cosies
* homemade natural lip balms
* prints and cards
* candles & toiletries and cakes

There will also be community/charity stalls with tombolas, second-hand jewellery, books, presents, calendars and diaries.

You don't only have to come to buy – you can be entertained as well. So far, the following have confirmed that they will be performing:

* Acton Hill Church gospel choir
* Stardust steel pans
* Acton Jazz Collective
* Acton Ballet School tap dancers
* Polish children dancers
* Ukuleles and singers from APPLE

In addition, Santa will be in his grotto, giving a FREE present to each child who visits him. There will also be lots of FREE family activities, including face and nail painting and an 'instant nativity play' in which all children can take part, costumes provided.

The fair will end with the announcement of the winner and runners-up of the Acton Best-Dressed Windows Competition.

An opportunity to give

Visitors to the fair will also be able to help others. St Mungo's, the charity for homeless people, will be having a stall where you can bring items that will help keep others warm during the depths of the winter.

Please bring warm clothing, including coats, scarves and gloves. Also needed are sleeping bags and unused personal items such as shaving kits, aftershaves, shower gels, make-up.
