West London’s newest youth music organisation is bringing fresh energy to Acton this weekend, as The Terry Marshall Academy stages its first live bands night at The Rocket pub on Churchfield Road. The event, taking place on Saturday 27 June from 5.30pm, promises an evening of original music and hard-rock covers performed by emerging local artists.

Founded earlier this year with the support of Marshall Amplification co-founder Terry Marshall, the academy aims to open up the world of music to the next generation. It offers young people not only the chance to perform but also hands-on experience in production, logistics and technical roles that make live events possible. Since its launch, the academy has worked with schools across West London to ensure that every young musician, regardless of background, can learn from industry professionals and step onto real stages.

The Rocket, recently refurbished and fast becoming a hub for young talent, has already hosted acts from The Rhythm Studio Academy of Music, Chiswick School and KS Music. Saturday’s line-up will feature solo performers and bands who have been developing their craft with The Terry Marshall Academy, including winners of local Battle of the Bands competitions and artists whose original songs have earned recognition in school and community showcases.

The collaboration between The Rocket and The Terry Marshall Academy marks a growing commitment to nurturing grassroots music in West London. For audiences, it offers the chance to see the area’s next generation of performers in an intimate setting before they take on bigger stages. For the young musicians, it’s a milestone moment — their first official bands night under the banner of an organisation built to help them find their sound and their confidence.

Live music begins at 5.30pm on Saturday 27 June at The Rocket, Churchfield Road, Acton.
