Acton Market will come alive on Saturday 4 July with a free Community Action and Family Day designed to bring neighbours together for a lively mix of creativity, music, learning and local support.
The event, delivered by Action West London in partnership with Acton Market, runs from 11am to 3.30pm and promises a full programme of hands-on workshops, children’s entertainment and community safety advice.
The day is completely free to attend, with organisers encouraging families to book workshop places early due to limited capacity. The aim, says Action West London, is to create an inclusive, high-energy day out that celebrates local talent while connecting residents with the organisations working to support the community year-round.
The line-up includes DJ masterclasses with two interactive sessions at 11.30am and 2pm will give children and adults the chance to learn the basics of mixing and track-blending. These sessions are free but must be booked in advance.
Upcycling and creative crafting workshops taking place at 11.15am and 12pm will show participants how to repurpose old clothing and create t-shirt yarn — a practical, sustainable skill that families can continue at home.

A professional face painter and an all-day bouncy castle will keep younger visitors busy throughout the event, running from 11am to 3pm.
Local groups, health teams and safety professionals will host stalls offering practical advice on wellbeing, family support and neighbourhood safety. The hub is designed to help residents access information and services in a relaxed, friendly setting.
Gary Buckley, CEO of Action West London, said, “This event is a fantastic opportunity for the Acton community to unite. We wanted to design a completely free, high-energy day out where families can enjoy themselves, learn new creative skills, and easily connect with the brilliant local teams working daily to keep our neighbourhood safe, healthy, and supported.”
Acton Market, which is managed by Action West London, has long been a hub for independent traders and community-led activity. The Community Action and Family Day builds on that mission, offering a platform for local organisations while giving families a cost-free day out during the summer.
