East Acton Family Fun Day

Community day out enjoyed by residents

The East Acton Golf Links Residents’ Association (EAGLRA) held a Front Garden Competition and Family Fun Day for the second year running.

Local residents were encouraged to register their front garden for the competition to be in the running for a prize. Pupils from John Perryn Primary School judged the gardens based on their attractiveness.

The Deputy Mayor of Ealing, Councillor Patricia Walker, announced the winners and awarded prizes at a Family Fun Day on Sunday 14th June 2015 between 2pm and 4pm on The Green in East Acton.

Over 100 local residents attended and enjoyed a bouncy castle, plant sale, races, homemade cakes and ices, and ‘East Acton’s Got Talent’.

EAGLRA spokesperson Margaret Jack said:

“We hope that this event has regenerated a feeling of community and encouraged a renewed sense of caring for our environment, and for each other.”

EAGLRA would like to thank the following for their help with this initiative – Ealing Council, Homebase Acton, Holiday Inn London West, North West London Independent School, local ice cream van Marcello’s, local grocers Continental Food & Spices and Goodies Supermarket, London Network Church and local residents.
