Consultation on Choosing Your GP

Do you think you should be able to choose a GP outside your area?

You have until the end of May to make your views known about choosing your Doctor.

At the moment, patients have to live in a GP catchment area before registering with the surgery but the Government is looking to change this so people can choose a practice that suits them.

Most people want a GP practice that’s near where they live. But some find it difficult to see their GP - maybe because they work full-time and can’t get to a practice near their home during the day.

Other people would like to be able to choose a practice they prefer because it has longer opening hours or different services available.

The consultation will end on May 28.
