Acton Market Hosts Natural Health Day

Yoga, organic food, massage take over the Mount on Sunday July 1

As Britain goes smoke-free on Sunday July 1st, Acton’s town centre will host a Natural Health Day to highlight the wealth of local resources available for healthy living.

The Mount/King Street will be divided into four main areas to explore including free yoga classes, organic food, juices and coffee, children’s activities, fitness demonstrations and market stalls with all sorts of natural goodies. Local health practitioners will be providing tasters of their skills, including massage therapy and reflexology.

The event is free to attend and will be the first in a series of special markets to be held on Sundays on the Mount/King Street, Acton, organised by local regeneration charity, Action Acton.

The event is open from 10am to 5pm. Free yoga classes will be held on the hour between eleven and three, along with capoeira demonstrations and tai chi.

The NHS Stop-smoking campaign will be on hand to advise people on how to give up cigarettes for good. People can even come along and have free blood pressure and diabetes tests.
