Acton Murder Victim Named as Nash Clyne
Investigation focuses on two barber shops on the High Street

A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a man on Birkbeck Road in Acton in the early hours of this Sunday morning (8 December).
Although the victim has not yet been formally identified, the police say they are confident that he is 33-year-old Nash Clyne, originally from Grenada.
The police received reports of a fight taking place and possibly shots being fired at around 4am while Storm Darragh was causing high winds across the country.
When they arrived along with London Ambulance Service they found Mr Clyne had suffered serious injuries. Paramedics fought to save him without success and he was pronounced dead shortly later.
A number of other people had been injured include two people who were taken to a major trauma centre although they are not believed to be in a critical condition.
Mr. Nash’s family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers. A special post mortem examination will take place in the coming days to determine the cause of his death.
Shevonte Thomas, a childhood friend was quoted in the Metro as saying, “He was a great, cool guy. He had three kids.
“He liked cooking and when we were young playing football. I don’t know how this could have happened. He was a nice, quiet guy.”
The police have dubbed the investigation Operation Burldock and enquiries are focused on two barbershops on the High Street. Detectives are keen to hear from anyone who was at the Front Line Cuts Barber Shop, 15 Acton High Street, or Paradise Cuts Barber Shop, 94 Acton High Street, just opposite the ActOne cinema, on the evening of Saturday 7 December from 10:00pm until 4:30am on the morning of Sunday 8 December. Police also want to hear from anyone who was near Front Line Cuts Barber Shop, between 3:30am and 4:30am on Sunday 8 December.

Detective Chief Inspector Brian Howie from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, who is leading the investigation, said, “We are in the early stages of our investigation and my team of experienced detectives is working at pace to establish why Nash was murdered and bring those responsible to justice.
“We are urging anyone who was in the area or who knows anything about what happened to come forward. We particularly want to hear from anyone who was at the Front Line Cuts barber shop or the Paradise Cuts barber shop, both in Acton High Street, between 22:00hrs on Saturday and 04:30hrs on Sunday.
“What you know, however insignificant it may seem now, could hold the key to this investigation.”
The Met has warned that the public can expect to see an increased police presence in the area as officers continue what it is describing as a ‘comprehensive investigation’. While some of the cordons have now been lifted, others will remain in place for the time being to provide the best chance to secure important evidence.
