Perryn Road Man Jailed for Assaulting PSCO
Officer had detained him for dealing drugs in Chiswick

A 20-year-old drug dealer from Acton has been jailed for two years and six months after he assaulted a Police Community Support Officer.
On Tuesday, 25 February 2020, PCSO Callum Norris and PC Gonzalez from Chiswick Policing Team were on patrol on St Thomas Road, Chiswick due to reports of drug dealing taking place in the area.
Mohammed Ali, of Perryn Road Acton, saw the officers and ran away but was chased and caught by them.
A struggle ensued and PCSO Norris pressed his emergency button to get other officers to their location. Ali then struck PCSO Norris resulting in bruising to his eye.
After Ali was detained, a search was conducted by PC Gonzalez which resulted in a finding of 50 wraps of Class A drugs and 24 Snap bags of cannabis..
Ali was sentenced at Isleworth Crown Court on Monday 15 November after pleading guilty to possession with the intent to supply and assault by beating on an emergency worker.
He had originally appeared at Isleworth Crown Court on Thursday, 26 March 2020 where he initially pleaded not guilty to all the charges. However at a later hearing, due to the evidence against him being overwhelming, he changed his guilty plea to guilty.
PCSO Norris said, “This is a reminder that drug dealing is unacceptable and as police we will deal with it robustly. We continue to patrol the streets and make Chiswick a safe place for all residents, to disrupt drug dealing and any violence which follows it.”
